What is an Un-Convenient Truth?

      Not to be confused with Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" and now famous or infamous Global Warming Theory (depending upon what side of the fence you are on), an Un-Convenient Truth is a phrase we are coining to describe the many problems caused by human addiction to "convenience" and how an ever increasing demand for it is leading us into an unsustainable future, creating an environmental nightmare, and pushing us over an environmental cliff.   

 

 

      The problem with falling over an environmental cliff is, found in the question: "What are humans without a healthy environment?", because the truth of the matter is that compared to most all other species on the planet, yes--humans are highly adaptable, resilient, and resourceful, but we are also squishy and have grown weak and dependent upon technology, particularly electronic technology, to survive.  Let's face it, when it comes to survival without modern conveniences, most humans can't.   No! that is not quite right, most humans WON'T and this is causing a historic conundrum which hasn't been documented since the rise and fall of the Roman Empire in the mid 1400's.  That event was merely the fall of an empire, in contrast, what we are facing now is the collapse of every major ecosystem in the world.  Without healthy ecosystems world wide, every species of the life on the planet will be negatively effected and mankind relies on each species of life from the very, very small to the very, very big in some way or another for our own survival.  

 

 

      If we do not stop the current path we are on, what we find convenient today will become inherently inconvenient in the future, therefore, the purpose of this site is to share the information we find about what is going wrong, figure out what is causing it, and also try to find reasonable, common sense solutions that each of us can do to help because we do believe that the changes need to happen one person at a time and one person CAN make a huge difference.  These changes are generally going to include a combination of old un-convenient, pre-Industrial age behaviors and methods, with new technology and intelligence.  We have to go back to what worked by combining it with what we know about what doesn't work and create a whole new way of living world wide.
